FAQ

Q1. How is coaching different from therapy?

While therapy often explores emotional wounds and mental health, coaching is goal-driven and future-focused. It can help you move from where you are now to where you want to be by using tools, strategies, and tailored support.

Q2. Who can benefit from coaching?

Most people can benefit from coaching although it’s best suited to motivated people who are committed to their personal growth and transformation.

Q3. Do I have to attend the session with the other person e.g. my partner?

Not at all. Many people have sessions on their own, especially if the other party isn’t ready, able or willing to participate. Personal growth in one person can spark positive changes in others.

Q4. How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals and situation. Some people experience positive change in 1 or 2 sessions, while others choose ongoing support. Together we’ll create a bespoke, flexible plan that works for you. There’s no pressure and you’re in control of how much or how little time and investment you make.

Q5. Is it confidential?

Your privacy is really important to me. All sessions are confidential unless there’s a concern about safety or harm, in which case I’m legally obligated to inform appropriate authorities. To maintain your privacy, I don’t engage in conversations outside of our schedule coaching sessions. This is an important safeguarding principle and not because I’m ignoring you.

Q6. Does it really work?

I’d love to tell you that coaching is a magic wand that transforms everything, but that would be disingenuous. What I do know is that it can be transformational – especially for people who are open to the process, willing to take responsibility and experiment with change.
